BRASIL RIDE 2014 PREPARES UNPRECEDENTED PRIZE FOR POLE POSITION

The fastest riders at the prologue will get Australian Mark Webber's helmet 

The fastest riders at the first day of Brasil Ride 2014, the 600km Mountain Bike stage race in Chapada Diamantina (Bahia - Brazil), will get an extra prize. The pole position team of riders will get Mark Webber's F1 replica helmet. The Australian Webber is an former pilot of Infiniti Red Bull Racing Team, with 13 pole positions and he is 9 times winner of Formula 1 Grand Prizes.

"The fastest mountain bike team at the Brasil Ride opening stage will receive the prize from the fastest team from Formula 1. Without doubt, its an unprecedented recognition for the cyclists in Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, having Mountain Bikers in same level with the fastest machines in the World", comments Mário Roma.

The Infiniti Red Bull Racing is 4 times World Champion at the Formula 1 (2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013), both in the constructor championship and in the pilots dispute. Besides Webber's helmet, the team will get an official jersey as part of the prize.

The special prize at the first opening stage is legitimate as recognition for the cyclist that combines speed, technique, explosion and endurance, qualities needed in the best athletes in the World, in special for the F1 pilots.

The Brasil Ride prologue has around 20km, which is relatively a short track, however it will be very demanding, and it will be a taste for the next days. The prologue combines all kind of terrain having singletracks, stones, sand, rivers to cross and even a bit of tarmac. So it is a super technical circuit around Mucugê, which is considered the entrance town for Chapada Diamantina National Park. 

The Latin America biggest challenge on mountain bikes - Brasil Ride 2014 - will be between the 19th and 25th of October, covering a total of 600km between trails and historic tracks in Chapada Diamantina, Bahia. Professional and amateur riders from 20 Countries and from over 20 Brazilian States will have a unique experience at the heart of Brazil, with 7 days of authentic mountain bike, self knowledge and in contact with nature.
