Brasil Ride introduces a new route for the seventh edition

The main MTB ultra-marathon of the Americas will be held in the Discovery Route, between the cities of Porto Seguro and Eunápolis, in southern Bahia. Registrations will open on Wednesday, March 30th

São Paulo (SP) - The seventh edition of the most important MTB ultra-marathon of the Americas will put competitors into new challenges. After being hosted from 2010 to 2015 in Chapada Diamantina, in the cities of Mucugê and Rio de Contas, the 2015 competition, between October 15 and 22, will feature a new route. The Route of Discovery will take athletes trough southern Bahia. The city of Porto Seguro will host one of the race villages. The other will be located near the city of Eunápolis - that will be the secondary camp site for the 500 participants.

"We had a lot of success in the Chapada Diamantina during our first six years of Brasil Ride. We are very grateful to all the cities of the region, as Mucugê, Rio de Contas and the other municipalities who welcomed us so warmly throughout these six seasons", said Mario Roma, Brasil Ride's creator. "But given the concerns of some of our sponsors and also the bikers, we opted for a scenario change to ensure that the competition can keep transforming the life of each participant, regardless of the how many times they have participated. We are convinced that the Porto Seguro region will receive us warmly for another great challenge that lies ahead", complements Mario Roma.

The coastal area of Porto Seguro offers a lot of single tracks for cyclists. In the countryside, close to the border of Bahia and Minas Gerais, the attractions are cocoa plantations, parks and mountains - the big stages will be held in that region.

Mountain bike's greatest event - Sudesb (Sports Superintendence of Bahia State)'s general director, Elias Dourado highlight the importance of the race for the state of Bahia. "We consider a good omen all the success that Brasil Ride had on Bahian soil. They have built a large legacy in terms of mountain bike practice in several municipalities and we can see a rise in the number of races that are organized each year. Brasil Ride, in partnership with the Brazilian Ministry of Sports and other partners, has become the leading international event in a sport that is already part of the Bahian calendar with very positive impacts for tourism and business development in the whole chain of Sport and Recreation".

The city of Porto Seguro is ready to receive the high-level demands of the competition. Mayor of Porto Seguro, Claudia Oliveira celebrates the arrival of a large sporting event in the city. "We were very happy to have the opportunity to host this major event in the national and international scene. It is another evidence that we have a city well prepared to host great events that benefits the municipality."

Brasil Ride 2016 registration - The duos that are already dreaming about the two-wheels party should be aware. Registrations for the seventh edition will open on Wednesday March 30. All details can be found on Brasil Ride's official web site: www.brasilride.com.br. As in previous editions, 500 vacancies for 250 doubles will be available.

About Brasil Ride - Brasil Ride's sixth edition brought together 500 athletes from 23 countries and 18 Brazilian states and the Federal District in the Chapada Diamantina, in the heart of Bahia state. The Brasil Ride Marathon, a single day race, featured another 600 bikers. Classified as S1, the race distributed to the winners of Open and Ladies categories 120 points in the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) rankings. In addition to products that were given as prizes in each stage, the 2015 edition had a record money prize for Brazilian Mountain Bike, with about 70 thousand Brazilian Reais in general and stages awards.
